Can anyone share which hotel would you choose to stay?
Minden vs YMCA Salisbury
Can%26#39;t speak to the Minden, but the Salisbury is hard to beat...good value for the money and close to most everything in TST. I have been twice and service is consistently on an even keel and the rooms are fairly large for what you pay. I have been in a low end room and a midlevel room and both were more than satisfactory. There may also be programs if you have children. Food is good value and there is a great dim sum place (Serenade) nearby. If you want luxury you will be dissapointed; if you are looking for value, safety and location I personally think the Salisbury can%26#39;t be beat for the price.

wenray75,
Did you end up staying at the Minden? I%26#39;m thinking of staying there when I visit HK next March.

No, I didn%26#39;t stay in Minden. But, I passed by there. It looks kind of cosy, with pubs just round the corner.
Have tried and seen both....
YMCA Salisbury Rd is more of a full service hotel. Has a full range of facilities, good size rooms and most have harbourviews. It%26#39;s in a good location next door to the Peninsula! Not too many frills but it is a well-maintained property with good service.
The Minden is one of what I call mid-range boutique hotels - basic clean rooms in a renovated building. It%26#39;s not boutique in the sense of W, Jia or a Park Hyatt. Rooms are small, it is quiet, double bed etc. Walls are a bit thin...
Score 1 YMCA in my humble opinion.
