Spend the overnight in Xitang, perhaps?

Alternatively you might want to consider visiting Shaoxing as well -- home to Lu Xun, one of the most respected contemporary Chinese authors; and the ancestral home of Zhou Enlai. Boating at East Lake is also quite a nice relaxing experience.
