Possible to catch flight later that night after Wolong?

I am thinking of flying in to Chengdu the day before we want to go to Wolong, driving that day into Wolong and then getting to the Panda Center right when it opens at 8:30? Would we have enough time and still be able to catch a flight back from Chengdu later that evening around 5:30 or 7:40? There is so much that I want to do on this trip and just not enough time to do it.

Forgot to say that this trip is in Sept. and the new road hopefully will be open and cut down on travel time.
