Nut allergy in Hong knog

Hi

My husband had a serious nut allergy. We are going to Hong Kong for 6 days in May for our 5th wedding anniversary (as it is somewere that I have always wanted to go). My question is - is it common for food in Hong Kong to be cooked in nut oils? We can avoid the obvious %26#39;nutty%26#39; dishes but I am concerned in case there are %26#39;hidden%26#39; nut elements....Any advice would be much appreciated....Thank you....

This question has been raised before - type in allergy in the search above and you will find all of the previous anwers. Good luck

The Chinese restaurants can cook with peanut oil (but there is some evidence this reduces the effect of the allergic reaction). So as a visitor it may be best to stick to western type food eg Dan Ryans, hotels, etc.

We lived there and our daughter has a nut allergy and generally were OK.

The hospitals are good with Englich spoken and always carry your epi-pen in case.
