Beijing and Shanghai questions

Hello,

First, thanks to everyone for being so generous with their time and sharing their experiences. This site has been invaluable to me in planning my trip to China.

Second, a few questions where I was hoping to hear people%26#39;s thoughts:

1. Does anyone have recommendations for restaurants in Beijing to have peking duck? Also, do people have thoughts on the restaurants Tin Tai Feng and Made in China?

2. We are going to be in Shanghai and currently are planning to see an acrobatics show at the Shanghai Center Theatre in the Portman Complex. I have been to see cirque de soleil several times, and while the shows have been entertaining and impressive, I think I%26#39;ve had my fill. Is there something particularly unique about this show in Shanghai that makes it a must-see, or would a first time visitor to Shanghai be better served wandering around exploring the city (taking into account the fact that we will only be in Shanghai for 2 days and 2 nights, and one of the days we will be spending in Tongli).

Thanks

Beijing and Shanghai questions

1) You mean Ding Tai Fung, not Tin Tai Feng, I presume? That%26#39;s mostly for Taiwanese dimsum.

2) The show that you named isn%26#39;t the Cirque du Soleil-influenced one. I%26#39;ve been to both (the other one is at Shanghai Circus World) and like the one at Shanghai Circus World better, actually. I guess you could skip it and just spend the night somewhere else. There%26#39;s plenty going on for Shanghai%26#39;s nights, depending on what your preferences are.

Beijing and Shanghai questions

For peking duck, the best one in China must be Quan ju de! Quan ju de is a hundred year of grand and famous restaurant in china. And it specialized in roast duck. The exterior of their roast duck is golden burning, but interior is delicate. It is worthy of te name indeedly. Each duck has special certification when it is fresh from the oven. Cooker performing the skill of cutting roast duck for customers.

There are 8 branches of Quan ju de in Beijing.

I recommend two of them.

1)Quan Ju De Roast Duck (Wangfujin restaur (全聚德王府井店)

Address: 9 Shuaifuyuan Hutong, Wangfujin Dajie, Dongcheng District.

2)Quan Ju De Roast Duck (Hepinmen restaura (全聚德烤鸭店和平门店)

Address: 14 building, Qianmen Xidaji, Chaoyang District.
