China Travel Service (CTS)

I%26#39;m planning a trip to China for three weeks in late May. Has anyone used CTS (China Travel Service Group) and what was your experience with them? What about China Air?

We will also be taking overnight trains between cities and have been warned about both the sleeping and bathroom facilities. Can anyone share their experience?

Thanks very much.

I personally don%26#39;t have any problems with trains, they%26#39;re my favourite method of travelling through China. But then I%26#39;m not a first-time traveller in China.

I was interested in your post as I too am considering a trip with China Travel Service and am trying to get information on their trips. Have you spoken with anyone else who have used them. I am also thinking about Ritz Travel, but the dates we want to go are already booked (Sept 2007) Would love to find a trip that leaves out of Newark rather than JFK. Have a wonderful trip yourself.

Thanks for any info

My husband and I are planning a trip to China in July. We are considering taking a train from Beijing to Xian spend a day in Xian and then reboarding the train to go to Shanghai. We are trying to find out if their are luggage lockers at the train station that would hold our luggage while we visit the Terra Cotta Soliders. Does anyone know?

We are also considering staying at the Beijing Courtyard B%26amp;B while in Beijing. Has anyone had an experience with them?

Thank you

Tracy

You won%26#39;t be reboarding the train, you%26#39;ll be boarding a totally different one to go to Shanghai. Also let me just warn you that it%26#39;s notoriously difficult to get decent tickets for Xi%26#39;an -- Shanghai trains, let alone on day of departure. Would advise flying instead if you%26#39;re not on a tight budget.

Yes, there%26#39;re left luggage places to store your luggage for the day while you roam around. However these are not lockers, more like cloakrooms with attendants to look after your luggage. I%26#39;ve used them before and charges are nominal and vary according to the size of your luggage.

Hi

Have just returned from a chinese new year trip with CTS. It was fantastic, there service was excellent, coouldn%26#39;t be faulted. CTS are ideal if, like me, you don%26#39;t feel confident at travelling in China or if you have limited time. You will see more and get more done than you can acheive on your own. Several members of our party had previously travelled alone in China and all agreed with the above.

ew1111 from West Orange, NJ. We live in Fairfield, NJ and we are looking for a trip to China in July. I did find an agency China Travel Service Int%26#39;l USA out of NYC that said I could fly Continental out of EWR. I think on Pacific Delight you can fly out of EWR but via California which would be a long trip. I would like to fly Continental over the Pole. We also like the Chinaspree tour but they are booked for July. Just was wondering if you found any other tour out of EWR .

Thanks

Rosemary

We are planning our trip to China in September. We are looking at the independent tours offered by ';China Highlights Tours';. Has anyone used them or do you know anything about that. The good thing about them is the dates are up to the individual traveler and accommodations to fit many different budgets with airfare betwen Beijing, Xian and Shanghai. What do you think?
