During my pleasure trip to Beijing I would like to buy maybe 20 or so glasses frames to take back to the US. I heard glasses are much cheaper than in the US. I am an Eye Doctor and would sell some to my patients. Anyone know if there are restrictions when I leave China regarding a purchase like that... Are the suitcases opened for Passport control before departure from China?

I don%26#39;t think there are any restrictions for eye glasses. Actually, you can pretty much buy ANYTHING and leave the country with it. Now when you re-enter the U.S., that%26#39;s another story! And it%26#39;s the Customs people THERE that you have to worry about! And it%26#39;s also going to depend on your airport, the Customs people at your airport, how they%26#39;re feeling that day, etc.
