Hi,
Wonder if anyone could help me answer some of my burning questions. I intend to go for a trip to Hong Kong this June with my husband and two kids, older is 4 and younger is 11 months.
I wonder if the Metropark Hotel, Mongkok is a conducive place for the kids? I have read mixed reviews on it. My main concern will be the size of the room, as well as the security of the locality. Is it a safe area? Will moving around in that area be difficult with a pram?
I intend to visit Disney on one of the days. what would be the best way to get there?
Thanks

Mongkok probably gets a bad rap as one of those places that is a little bit seedy and bustling with folks. I visit the area quite regularly and while it is busy --- and I mean perpetual rush hour - it is quite safe. Would take the usual precautions of keeping money / valuables hidden away etc. Don%26#39;t flaunt anything, anywhere - there are opportunists around.
I would like to address the pram issue - with the sheer volume of people in Hong Kong - pushing a pram will be slow. Also, travelling in and out of the MTR will usually require you to fold it and walk down stairs - most stations don%26#39;t have escalators at street level - some do though and I believe Mongkok is one of them.
The best way to get to Disneyland Hong Kong is to get the MTR from Mongkok. Change once at Lai King station and then through to Sunny Bay where you get the Disney train to the resort. Takes about 30 minutes.
Costs HK$20 / adult HK$10 for children.
If you are worried about Mongkok and Metropark, there are other hotels you could try in Tsimshatsui, Mongkok, Jordan areas.
While I work for a five star hotel in TST East, I would suggest you also look at some of the other four stars in the area that may fit your budget. Try the YMCA on Salisbury Road - always popular - good sized rooms and family friendly. It%26#39;s a gem.

Agree - HK is not suitable for prams. Try to purchase a comfortable back pack.
Thank you so much for your advice! Will bear the tips in mind. They%26#39;ve been a great help.
