My friend and I are planning a visit to Beijing in early-mid May. We were wondering if the Taihedian is still under renovations then.

yes,the renovation will last next year,including the gate of Supreme Harmony(taihemen)

however around Taihedian there are lots of photos to show you the building,hopw this help you
