Great Wall - Beijing Area (what section to do?)

We have budgeted a full day to visit the Great Wall. We plan to hire a car to take us to and from the section we visit so we will not need to rely on a bus or tour group.

Which section do you recommend that we visit?

If you have a full day, jinshanling-simatai is a good choice for you. If need car rental service, just contact me at asprila@sina.com.

Cheers

if you have one full day, choose Mutianyu or Simatai

If you think you both fit and can do hiking for 10.5km try the Simatai,do hiking from Jinshanling -simatai.

Half day: Mutianyu, or Simatai.

Full day: Jinshanling-Simatai.

Which one has the lift both ways?

thanks.

Mutianyu for sure. Can%26#39;t remember about Simatai going up, but there was a kewl zipline coming down.

Can we do the Jinshanling-Simata section of the Great Wall and also the Ming Tombs in one day? Also, should we spend time to see the Ming Tombs?

It certainly has to be Jinshingling to Simatai, I just did the trip today (with Far East Hostel) and it was amazing. The numerous hawkers selling postcards and t-shirts are annoying (even if I did buy an ';I climbed the Great Wall shirt...) but they give up after a little bit.

Amazing views and a good hike.

Have fun!

I don%26#39;t know about the practicality of it, but I would guess that it%26#39;s not practical even if doable. As such I would say that it%26#39;s unadvisable.

You can%26#39;t visit jinshanling-simatai,and the Ming Tombs in one day, they are quite far away from each other.
