Weather in June

We are planning trip to China and only time we can go is June. I have been told by many it will be hot and wet so am a bit worried about this. Are going to Chengdu, Lijiang, Nine Valley Village (jiuzhaigou?), Xian and Beijing for 3 weeks. If anybody has any advice on whether it is really not a good time to travel, would appreciate it. Thanks

Lijiang and Jiuzhaigou have a rather high altitude, so you wouldn%26#39;t need to be too worried about getting too hot there. Rather, you need to make sure you%26#39;re adequately protected against the sun and be careful of altitude sickness -- the latter mainly for Jiuzhaigou, and if you%26#39;re planning to go to Huanglong as well.

What order are you doing those destinations? What are your points of entry and exit?

yes,its a little hot on July in China, but not bad, dont worry for it.

Hi Houndwok June is China%26#39;s summer and the weather would be similar to Brisbane weather now.

The end of June will be hotter but early june should be pleasant.

Buy an umbrella for both sun and rain and enjoy it.

I agree with everything that has been said so far but I will add a litle extra advice bring an Aussie sunscreen sunnies and mozzie repellant because what is generally available here with the exception of Beijing is not as good as what you can buy in Aussie and of course there are the problems and time lost locating these items in Beijing.

Also if you are travelling independantly bring a menu from a Chinese restaurant at home that is in both Mandarin and English something which will overcome the language barrier when ordering food locally

Thanks everyone for your comments. Ellyse, re your question, we are flying from Kunming to Lijiang for a few days. Then will fly to Chengdu for a few days before flying to Jiuzhaigou. Afterwards, flying back to Chengdu then going to Xian and train to Beijing

No need to backtrack to Chengdu after Jiuzhaigou. Simply fly directly Jiuzhaigou -- Xi%26#39;an. Rest of it looks fine.
