Making travel arrangement in China

I have been working with a Chinese based tour agent on trying to book a trip from Shanghai to Kunming, to Lijiang, to Zhongdian, to Guilin, and back the Shanghai. Trip is in April, 12 days. As I attempt to finalize a few details on the trip, the price keeps escalating. 1) How difficult is it to make arrangements (hotel, local guides, airfare, buses) once you are in China? 2) Or any recommendations on tour agents to use to help make some or all of the arrangements?

You can easily hire guides or join trips through hotels. It is also pretty easy to tour in these places without a guide using a guidebook.

Hotels can also help arrange tickets between destinations for buses, trains and planes or at least help you get it sorted out.

The amount you will pay for these services will be related to the amount of money you pay for the hotel.

To do this on your own, you do need to buy a good guidebook and spend a lot of time reading up on the places you are going and researching places to stay, so it does take time.

If you%26#39;re flying most legs, one reason could be that the flight discounted prices and schedules haven%26#39;t been finalised yet for April -- schedules are due to change at the end of March around 24/3.

If you%26#39;d like to try another opinion, email me at ellyse99@yahoo.com with your dates of travel and I%26#39;ll check out the schedules and prices for you courtesy of my trusty ticket agent (who unfortunately speaks only Chinese, sorry). Put ';TripAdvisor Lee-Oregon'; in the subject line so that I don%26#39;t junk your email by mistake, thanks.
