Antique market, Beijing

Do you know if this is open on the weekdays?

I am interested buying wood block paintings, where can I buy them? Are these readily available in Beijing (other than Antique Market), Xian, Kunming, Lijiang and Shanghai?

Thank you.

You can buy them in Panjiayuan or Liulichang in Beijing.

Is Pangjiayuan open on the weekdays?

thanks.

Panjaiyuan is only weekends.

What time is the Pangjiayuan closed on Sundays?

How far is this from Sofitel Peace in Wangfujing?

We will arrive in Beijing on Sunday afternoon and will be there until Wednesday. We like to go to this place.

Thank you all for your informaiton.

Hmmm, shouldn%26#39;t it be woodblock prints, not paintings?

Panjiayuan is best on very early weekend mornings, so I think you%26#39;ll be missing it.

In Xi%26#39;an try the Muslim Quarter area.

In Lijiang there%26#39;re shops selling various souvenirs all over the old town. Haven%26#39;t specially noticed woodblock paintings though.

There%26#39;s an old woodblock artist in Xitang (http://www.xitang.com.cn) which you could visit as a daytrip from Shanghai. He has pretty good woodblock paintings for a very reasonable price, and will sign his name on the back as well. I%26#39;ve bought from him quite a few times as I like his work.

Otherwise, try Yuyuan Bazaar and Duolun Lu in Shanghai.

Ellyse,

I think you are right...it should be woodblock prints NOT woodblock paintings.

Thanks.

but also there are many Antique shops at Panjiayuan Market, they open everyday, the morning market is best
