Visas

Hi,

Myself and 2 friends are planning on doing a trip in Asia this summer. We are all irish. We are starting from Moscow and doing the TransMongolian arriving in Bejing. We hope to then travel by land to India, passing through, vietnam, laos, cambodia bangladesh, etc. We are having trouble finding out about visas....

Do we need to organise all the visas before we leave or can we get some on the way eg. in China? Also, if we do get them before we leave, knowing the exact entry and exit date is going to be a problem. Any advice anyone can offer us, would be greatly appreciated.

Vietnamese visas can be gotten quite easily in China. If you%26#39;re travelling overland you%26#39;ll either be going in from the Yunnan Hekou -- Lao Cai border or Guangxi -- Friendship Pass border. Get your visa at Kunming for the former and Nanning/Guangzhou for the latter. Both are close enough (2-3 days travel) from the border so you should know your date of entry by then!

Great, thanks for that Ellyse.
