Golden Bauhinia Square

I understand that Golden Bauhinia Square is the best place to see the light show on HK Island, is that right? We want to see the show from there so that we have an easier trip back to our Disney hotel with a tired 7 year old although personally I%26#39;d like to see it from the avenue of stars. How long might a journey from the avenue to Disney take and also from GB Square to Disney? We%26#39;d like to eat probably before the show as our daughter is used to eating fairly early in the evening. What else is in and around the square apart from the statue? Are there restaurants or any kind of simpler places for kid friendly (western) food or very simple HK style food where the tastes are quite plain.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks.

Alf.

Golden Bauhinia Square

There are restaurants at the Hong Kong Convention Centre itself.

How to get there

Take MTR to Wan Chai Station (Exit A1). Walk across the footbridge, head right and through the lobby of Central Plaza, continue on across the connecting overhead walkway, then descend to ground level. Head towards the waterfront ahead, the statue and monument )Golden bahinia) is on the left. My guess is that it will take an hour travel time.

Other place for dinner is the rotating R66 restaurant in Wanchai. Very high skyscraper with terrifiv views-Wanchai exit B2 then a 3 min walk

One of those restaurants in the Convention and Exhibition Centre is the Congress Restaurant on the 6th floor which provides very good dinner buffet starting 6:30pm. Advance booking recommended.

Aa you probably know, Mtr Hong Kong Station is the most convienent place for getting back to Disney, it is about a 10 minute taxi ride from GB Square.
