Euro ( € ) and/or Dollar ( $ ) accepted ??

Going on a tour through China in May.

Visiting...Beijing, Xian, Kunming, Dali, Lijiang, Guilin, Yangshou, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.

Someone can tell me if Euro%26#39;s or Dollars are (widely) accepted and so it is clever to take smal denominations in 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 bills ?

Thanks,

Otto-Maria

you have to exchange your $ or 鈧?first, obviously. You can do that at banks, exchange booths in shops, hotels.. all at relatively same rates. So having small bills isn%26#39;t going to help.

Otto-Maria,

We will also be in China in late May/early June.

From all the posts that I%26#39;ve read, the best bet is to take brand new 1$ bills (you can get them from most banks if you order in advance). For the street vendors, these will work fine and everyone will take them (as long as they are in good condition). Everywhere else for bigger purchases, you should use your credit card.

samll bills is helpful for you samll purchase at street vendors, credit card forbigger shopping.you can exchange at any banks in downtown.

Of course street vendors will take your 1USD bill and give you a loudsy exchange in the process

Agree with bibimbob.
