Ocean Park- worth going?

Could someone please let me know whether we should go to Ocean Park? My husband and I will be visiting in May and are going to Disneyland and wonder about going to Ocean Park as well. Thanks.

Ocean Park- worth going?

I%26#39;d say so. It was the original and might be not as crowded as Disney. Probably rides don%26#39;t have the wow factor, but environment and atmosphere nice. It%26#39;s on HK island - a 15 min taxi or bus ride from the causeway bay area. Haven%26#39;t been for a long while, so other posters may have up to date opinions.

Ocean Park- worth going?

I think it worth going especially for adults, it is a park mixed with sea and land animals, mechanical rides are more suitable for adults or teens (when compared with HK Disneyland).

What about children 5 and under?

Well worth a visit and provides excellent value for money. Everybody expected Ocean Park to suffer when Disneyland opened but this has not happened and after it%26#39;s future was in doubt not so long ago it now attracts over four million visitors a year (it%26#39;s especially benefited from the influx of mainland tourists). There%26#39;s a scenic cable car ride connecting the two sections of the park (lowland and headland) which are on opposite sides of a hill. It%26#39;s not as lengthy as Ngong Ping 360 but has spectacular views of the coastline. There%26#39;s a marine life area with huge walk through aquarium, underwater tunnel and atoll reef, outdoor theatre with performing dolphin shows (you need to get there well before the show starts to get a seat). There are also two giant pandas and other wildlife. There%26#39;s a rotating rising observation tower and numerous rides at the Headland area including the Abyss Turbo Drop, roller coasters and ferris wheel.

It can get very busy at weekends and public holidays and you may have to queue for the cable car to get from one end of the park to other.

It usually closes at 6 though which doesn%26#39;t usually give us enough time to see/do everything but opening hours are extended at public holidays and last summer I think they experimented with opening until 9.

A major expansion programme has commenced which will see it double in size over the next few years.

Thank you everyone who replied to my post. It looks like we will be going to Ocean Park

The rides in Disneyland are generally more suitable for child 5 or below. But there are still some rides in the Ocean Park suitable for them, and they will like the marine animals.

Thanks Tin. I have 2 kids 5 and 2 and was about to switch to disneyland.
