Best Room Numbers in YMCA Salisbury to view the Light Show

Hi, Anyone can recommend the room numbers in YMCA in Salisbury to c best view the Symphony of Lights. Only one person is travelling. So that would be a single room type. They have 14 floors it seems. Thanks

Ask for a harbour view room on the highest floor possible, and book through the Salisbury YMCA web site. If you require a smoking room the seventh floor are the highest that permit smoking. The fifteenth is the top floor.

Tks, Spinkk fr yr advice. Highly appreciate that. I just wanted to know whether we are allowed to go to the roof top to video/photograph the Symphony of light show at 8pm. If so do I have to obtain prior permission from the reception??

Other thing is I have booked a Harbour View Room in 14th floor. They won%26#39;t allocate the room numbers yet. I have requested Room number 1414 (14th floor Room #14) but they said they allocate room numbers only on arrival. Was that the case for u too?? Any other advice please e-mail me. Tks. pushpas@hotmail.com

You%26#39;d have to check with the Salisbury on the roof. I don%26#39;t think you can go up there. I use a Canon S70 digital and took good night exposures from my 7th floor room with the lights out, but did not have a tripod and without one could not capture the laser light show. We had a 12th floor room booked but when we asked for a smoking room got changed to the seventh floor, which is the highest with smoking rooms.

I think it%26#39;s first come, first served for specific rooms but all the front rooms on one of the top two or three floors are great.

Just warning you ahead of time...

The light show isn%26#39;t a big deal.... really, after 1 night, you don%26#39;t need to see it again, AND I think it%26#39;s NOT worth it to pay high price for a hotel room JUST for the light show.

A great location to see the light show which is free:

Marco Polo HOng Kong Hotel%26#39;s 6 th floor parking lot. It%26#39;s THE BEST night harbourview you can see... probably in this world, I think it%26#39;s the most beautiful photo you can ever take of a night view in any city in this world.

It%26#39;s free. Stand there as long as you want. The light show is just a few lasers shooting around, and some ';dots'; of fireworks on top of some buildings. It%26#39;s not a big deal... but see it if you have a chance, it seems to be a ';must do'; as a tourist in HK.

We stayed in a harbourview room at The Salisbury YMCA for six nights and only watched the light show from our room twice. The other nights we were out in the city at restaurants and races and concerts. But the fascinating, constantly changing view of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong we saw every day from our room was worth every cent of the US$29.00 extra we paid for the view over a standard room. We would do it again in a heartbeat.

We%26#39;ve stayed at the Park in Tsim Sha Tsui four times and like its price and room size and service, but the Salisbury%26#39;s view and location will bring us there again.

dont forget to ask the reception desk which station you switch on to get the music which accompanies the light show. The information is somewhere in the paperwork in your room.

Thank u all so much for yr kind advice. Much appreciate them. Pushpa..Bris...Aust.
